This week was killer. On Monday, we literally had nowhere to go since the church decided to get its carpet cleaned—honestly, so annoying. Anyways, we couldn’t be outside because it was like -20 degrees, so we went to our leasing office and played some games. We played this game called Scum, and honestly, I was cracked at it. I don’t know how because I’ve literally never played before. It just comes naturally for me, I guess. 💁♀️
We went to do some service because—I don’t know about y’all—but I’m actually a very service-oriented person. 🫠 Some people might even say I care too much. Anyways, we went to the food donation center to organize everything, and it’s pretty fun. The elders in our district go with us, and they play music, which honestly makes it sooo fun. While we were there, one of the elder companionships was on exchanges, so our zone leader was with us. (I never spell his name correctly, so I’m just going to put Elder Risher and hope I got it right.) Well, he was there, and while we were there, it started snowing—but like, the type of snow you can blow away with your mouth like dust. And they literally parked us! We were so mad because it wasn’t even bad. So, we all hated on Elder Risher—it was pretty funny. While driving away, we forgot to give them the vinegar they asked for (don’t ask why), so I chucked it at their car. I used my left hand, so it landed on the ground and literally exploded. Haha, had us all dead!!

I was humbled this week! (Well, when am I not? 🧐) We were meeting with this older lady, and she grabbed my hand and said, “I don’t think you should wear that pink sweater anymore.” It had me dead—the fact that she had enough courage to say that! I mean, I don’t blame her for speaking her mind. But I kindly thanked her for her honesty and opinion. Me and my comp got in the car and just started dying—it was crazy!!

Also, I’ve been coughing recently—tell me why a dad in my ward literally went out of his way to show me a video of Gollum from The Lord of the Rings laughing and said, “That’s what you sound like.”
Here’s a spiritual thought for y’all:
“And when ye shall receive these things, I would exhort you that ye would ask God, the Eternal Father, in the name of Christ, if these things are not true; and if ye shall ask with a sincere heart, with real intent, having faith in Christ, he will manifest the truth of it unto you, by the power of the Holy Ghost.”
I know what y’all are thinking: “Lexi, why did you include the most famous verse that everyone knows?” Well, I wanted y’all to read it in a way that applies to our prayers. Who here thinks their prayers are repetitive? 🙋♀️ Y’all are not alone. Sometimes we fall into vain repetitions—praying for food to nourish and strengthen our bodies, and then opening our eyes to a Dr. Pepper and cupcake. I invite y’all to take the time to go into a closet and say a sincere prayer. I have seen such a difference in my life since I have. We have to have a sincere heart and real intent!!
