So yāall, I got transferred to the San Luis Valley!! After literally 14 months in the Springs, they shipped me down to the valley!! Iām in a super small town called Sanford. And yāall, culture shock fr. Literally, there are 800 people here and this town was founded by members, in like the 1800s, so everyone here is basically a member. And like, the church is dead-centered in the town!! They have one store called The Country Store, and they have a museum that has been shut down for like a year now and wonāt open until Juneābut itās literally insane. Their high schoolās graduating class this year is 17 people. Itās literally crazy. They have one paved road called Main Street, and everyone calls it a highway, but itās literally just a paved road. They all fish and hunt and have cows and farm. Itās a whole different universe than the Springs.

But yāall, wow, these people are my people!! They are the nicest, most generous, caring people ever!! Iām over three wards, which is super stressful, but Iām back with 3-hour church, hitting up everyoneās sacrament meeting. But yāall, the church is sooo gorgālike probably one of the prettiest churches I have seen.

SISTER CHRISTENSEN!! Sheās from Arco, Idahoāwhich is a small town, and itās smaller than the one we are serving in!! So I think God needed me to be with her ācause I literally was so confused about where to park in this place ācause there are no curbs. And my comp was like ājust park there,ā and I literally had to tell her, āthatās literally someoneās lawn,ā and she says, āno, thatās where you park.ā So Iām telling her how to be a missionary, and sheās teaching me how to live small-town life, ahaha!! She just graduated in 2024 and was living it up as a volunteer EMTāso she is stocked up with Band-Aids!!

Anyways, we had to go up to Canon City according to this elder who also had a trainee, so I just listened to what he said since heād been in the valley basically his whole mission. So we drove through Canon City, and that same elder called us saying how his tire popped and that they donāt have a jack. So they asked us to comeāit turns out he went through Pueblo, and I was up in Canon City, so honestly it was the most confusing road trip, haha!! And my Maps had me take a detour, but the plus is I got to see Canon City, which is absolutely gorgeous. And since sisters donāt serve there, it was our one chanceāso score. Also, that elder ended up finding a jack, haha, and fixing his tire. So after like 3.5 hours of driving, we finally made it!! Literally the longest drive I have taken on the mish.

Also, fun fact: my trainer was trained here!! So everyone knows Sister Simmonsāso thatās soo lit!!
Also, funniest thingāwe were sitting in our truck and I look to my side and literally screamed ācause there was a person there. It was our newest best friend Adura who pulled up on her motorized scooter. Literally scared the crap out of us, but sheās literally a hoot!!
Also yāall, so there are some houses that are way out in the fields, so we were driving on these dirt roads to get there, and Iām driving pretty fast when out of nowhere a dog runs out and I almost hit it. Me and my comp both scream and we tell the member family all about it and they say: āBest advice youāll getādonāt swerve, just hit. No matter what animal it is,ā lol.
So we were driving out again and I swear itās the same dog and he has a death wish. We were driving and two dogs ran out, but I didnāt swerveābut literally that dog was so close to being dead. Literally insane.
We were driving back from the memberās houses and weāre driving past these fields. And itās literally the scariest thing ever. Like I feel like at any moment Michael Myers is gonna be running out from them. Itās terrifying.
Ok, thatās probably it!! I wanted to give yāall a little spiritual thought!!
āAnd if men come unto me I will show unto them their weakness. I give unto men weakness that they may be humble; and my grace is sufficient for all men that humble themselves before me; for if they humble themselves before me, and have faith in me, then will I make weak things become strong unto them.ā
I have been humbled so much on the mission. And I think these past few days have shown me where I lack as a missionary. Moses in Exodus 4 converses with the Lord about how he canāt be a spokesman for Him ācause heās not good at speaking!! Moses lacked so much confidence in himself. The Lord became angry and gave Aaron to Moses as a spokesman. Anyone with normal feelings of his own unworthiness can sympathize with Mosesābut all must learn to trust in the power of the Lord. Moroni taught that the Lord specifically gives individuals weaknesses so that they will be humble. But if they have enough faith in God, His grace is sufficient to āmake weak things become strongā for them. These last two transfers will test meābut I know I just need to trust in the Lord!!
