Y’all… This Week Was LIT (And a little spooky )

Hey y’all!!

This email is to convince the Jew and Gentile that there is a Christ!!
^^ I thought that was clever haha!! But for real, I can testify about Christ all the time because I truly know He is my Savior!!

Y’all, this week has been lit!! So let’s get into it!!

We were just casually sitting in our car doing some phone work 🤓, and I looked out the window—and what did I see? It wasn’t popcorn popping on the apricot tree!  But it was a kid playing baseball by himself. Like, he was tossing the ball up and hitting it solo. So I rolled down the window and asked if he wanted someone to pitch to him.

So, in our dresses, we pitched him a few. Then we headed to dinner, and I realized my earring had fallen out. I figured it must’ve happened during our baseball moment, so we went back to the field and saw the same kid—his name is Hunter.

Hunter asked what we were looking for, and I told him my earring. He said, “If I help you look, can y’all pitch me a few again?” We agreed, but said then we get to share a message about Christ with him. He said, “Bet.”

We couldn’t find the earring, sadly, but we pitched a few anyway. And y’all—you can ask Hunter—he said I was pretty good at pitching. So, not gonna lie… next Babe Ruth right here.  This whole scenario gave Sandlot vibes for real!!

We talked to Hunter and found out he’s 12, baptized, but his family doesn’t go to church anymore. He lives with a part-member family. So we gave him a challenge to read a verse of the Book of Mormon every day—really hoping he does!! God’s team always wins ☝️🙏

It's a barn.

Crazy story time!!!

We were doing some stop-bys and saw this house with no record or referral dot on it—which is rare for Sanford. So we knocked. The lights were on, so we figured someone was home.

But my comp goes, “Wait—I’ve heard something about this house being creepy.” I asked if she had a bad vibe. She said no. Then asked if I did. I also said no… so we went ahead and knocked.

There was 70s music playing inside, so it was a vibe. No one answered. I peeked through the window… and y’all I got chills. We dipped.

We then went to the house across the street and asked who lived there. The lady said no one. I said, “Let me rephrase—who used to live there?” Lights and music don’t just turn themselves on.

Then she popped off with this wild story. Apparently, twin brothers used to live there. They weren’t in the right state of mind. One accidentally shot the other while messing around with guns. The surviving twin couldn’t live without his brother, so he took his own life. Their older brother found them and, for the past 20 years, has gone to the house and turned on music in their living room.

Y’all, I did not expect to hear a full-on true crime story in my mission email, but here we are. The woman who told us all this? She’s actually the stepmom of the boys. We got to testify to her about the Plan of Salvation. It was really impactful.

Next up… Small-town life be wildin’

We were asked by a lady in our ward to help with her yard. She said her adult son would help too, but to ignore anything he says because he’s “kinda crazy.”

So, we’re picking up sticks and leaves. Afterwards, we share a message in their home. I talked about prayer, and the son starts rocking back and forth and muttering. When I asked the room to share an experience with prayer, the parents did, but he kept chiming in about how he could “see certain things” and said there were people in the room with us.

Y’all… I love Sanford. It keeps us so entertained. I love small-town life!!

Zone training!!
We had zone training this week with the Kotters and it was awesome!! I love them so much!! We talked about the Law of Consecration (saving the spiritual thought for the end!).

We played a game called Catch Phrase! I got totally jipped and our team got out the first round but my comp came in clutch and made it to the final round—so I got to join in!! Her word was “roadwork,” and y’all… she literally said, “I sure hope it does” and BAM! We got it!!  It was so comp-unified.

Sadly, we got second place  I’ve always been so close to taking first 🤏. Next time fo' sho!!

 Yes I'm in Sanford 💅💁‍♀️🤫

Also… IT IS FINISHED

Sis Christensen and I have officially spoken in all 3 wards!! No more talks for me till my homecoming—hallelujah!

Let me tell y’all how this week started. We were about to leave the house, and I said the prayer. In my head, I told Sis Christensen to grab the keys.
Well… she did not.

We closed the door—and our car keys and house key were inside. Let’s just say: predicament.

We called some awesome members (shoutout Ryan and Destre), and we popped out a screen and had Sis Christensen climb through the window.  Let’s just say, I’m never putting her in charge of the keys again… 🤦‍♀️JK, maybe it was a team effort.

SPIRITUAL TIME

From Leviticus 21:10:

“And he that is the high priest among his brethren, upon whose head the anointing oil was poured, and that is consecrated to put on the garments, shall not uncover his head, nor rend his clothes.”

We talked a lot with President about the Law of Consecration—how you can’t just sacrifice, you have to consecrate, or the sacrifice means nothing.

This verse highlights the high priest’s unique role and how those who are consecrated to God must live to a higher standard. Being consecrated means you leave the world behind and fully dedicate what you've sacrificed to the Lord.

I love the Law of Consecration. It’s so powerful!!

Love y’all!!

BTW: remember that referral I sent to Africa that one time? THEY’RE GETTING BAPTIZED!! That’s lit!!
