Love this church Sanford Colorado May 2025 |
It’s been a good week—some crazy things happened. Let’s just say I’m grateful to be alive haha!!
So on p-day we have to drive a bajillion miles to the city to do shopping, wash the car, and stuff. So life out in the boonies is tough haha. Jk, I’m just complaining to complain—life is great, every day is an adventure. I taught the district Scum, and y’all can say they ain't never lookin’ back π€

We have one shop in town called the Country Store, aka Scott’s. Idk why it has two names. Well anyway, the people that own it are inactive, so we are trying to build some friendships with them. We walk in, and I had to use the bathroom, so I turn to my trusty trainee and tell her to start a convo with the owner while I’m in the bathroom. I come out and she did—so proud. π₯² Anyways, we had like a freakin’ forever convo with this lady, and she starts off saying, "I don’t gossip but..." so yeah, we basically know the town’s secrets ahha!!
We had an appointment with a member family, and their son is a Senior in high school and does rodeo. So I asked if he had any belt buckles he’d won. Well, he literally took his display case off the wall and brought out so many!! He said, "Well, this shows how good I am." Now y’all, as a child of 9, I felt obligated to humble this kid ahah! So I said, "Well yeah, there’s so many ‘cause all these are cause of mutton bustin’." His grandma was dying—they thought it was so funny!! π
So we ate at this girl named Rosie’s—she’s a freshman and she came to church ‘cause her friend invited her, and she loves it. We had an impromptu lesson with her in the car with her friend and it went great!! She told us how she just loves the feeling of church and the comfort she feels. She’s been praying about a date, and so far it's either June 27th this year or June 27th, 2027—so we are praying for the one this year. Her biggest concern is her parents, so we are praying hard.

The most prettiest church building i swear Sanford Colorado May 2025 |
Well, we went up to this house and the dog was just barking at us, so we went closer, and it was scared of us but still felt obligated to defend their house. The thing is, we went closer and it was just backing up into the front door, so we were just trying to knock, but it literally wouldn’t let us ‘cause it would gain some courage and try to bite us. So we just gave up and headed to the car, but I guess this dog hyped himself up and decided he would chase after us haha! So we started to run and it thought we were running toward it, so it got scared. It was probably one of the funniest experiences!!
We then did this other stop-by for this lady, but her front door was covered with flies—it was so bad. Then when you got closer it smelled so bad, so ofc with all the crime shows I’ve watched, this was clearly a sign there was a dead body in there. It was scary, so we definitely told someone about that.
Y’all, this is so funny—so the elders in Manassa ride bikes and I just found out they live next to some members in their ward and the members have this dog named Olive. This dog literally just travels with the bike elders—like, she follows them all day, just walking behind their bikes. And while they’re in lessons, she just waits outside with their bikes. I don’t know why, but this just cracks me up haha!!

Our dessert at a member house haha had me dead Sanford Colorado May 2025 |
So we attend 3 wards. So yesterday was fast and testimony meeting. Y’all, the Spirit prompted me three times to bear my testimony—but it wasn’t the same testimony, ‘cause a guy after 3rd ward said he snuck in and loved our testimonies... but he was in 1st ward, so I couldn’t say the same thing. I’m honestly really proud of myself haha!!
Also, my southern accent has been comin’ out hahaa ‘cause of the environment. I’m not gonna lie—small-town life is pretty cool.
Here’s a little spiritual thought for ya!!
This comes from Jacob 5 in the Book of Mormon:
“18 And he said unto the servant: Behold, the branches of the wild tree have taken hold of the moisture of the root thereof, that the root thereof hath brought forth much strength; and because of the much strength of the root thereof the wild branches have brought forth tame fruit. Now, if we had not grafted in these branches, the tree thereof would have perished. And now, behold, I shall lay up much fruit, which the tree thereof hath brought forth; and the fruit thereof I shall lay up against the season, unto mine own self.”
This whole chapter is just awesome ‘cause it shows how much God cares about each of us!! In this story, the Lord of the vineyard cares so much about his trees—and that is us!! God is literally in relentless pursuit of all of us!! What I did in this chapter is highlight every time it says prune, dig, graft, preserve, nourish, and dung, ‘cause that shows God will not stop at anything to save a tree. I encourage y’all to do the same! I love this verse ‘cause it talks about roots and how they give us strength, and how we have to graft. Grafting means making a covenant, and roots are those covenants! This shows how key making covenants with the Lord is, and how this gives us strength!!
Love y’all!!
Xoxo,
