Cutest Sister Missionaries out there 🙌👑

Literally nothing exciting happened this week.

Pday was lit tho!🔥We played pickle ball again and I literally am ready to join tournaments after the mish. I'm that good!! We partnered up with the district and we were playing winners and at the last match it was Elder Grunke and me against Sister Simmons and Elder Crevelati. Let me tell you how competitive this game was. Sister Simmons played tennis in highschool so she was already good, and then I have my natural pickle ball talent that came out of no where, so this game was fierce. Lots of trash talkin'!!  Let's just say it was a tough loss with my team losing by one. Don't worry,it's comeback season soon!!!💪

What is up with cats? If you know me, you know I'm not a big fan of cats, like at all. We literally show up to this members house and she has eight cats, and I'm not exaggerating.  She literally has eight cats! We were sitting and everyone was petting a cat, except me. Cause no thanks. But I swear these cats sense that I don't like them cause they literally came and all sat on me.  I was fed up, I was done, but I powered through like the good missionary I am. I literally was secretly poking Sister Simmons to call them over cause she loves animals but they would not budge. Imagine this... I'm teaching this great gospel with eight cats on me. Never again 🐈‍⬛️🫷

We had the best time with one of our less active members! His name is Stephan and it was pretty cool to talk to him because he grew up in the church but then at 18 joined the army and fell away from it.  Then he started trying different religions and he was even researching Muslims but he told us he always found his way back to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. He said he knows it's true and knows the Book of Mormon is true, but he doesn't know how to get back to church. Little does he know is, that we know exactly how😁 🙌

We did exchanges twice this past week because Sister Simmons secretly hates me lol jk but it was lit.  We hung with two other trainees and we broke all the rules jk. We stayed righteous! We were knocking doors, and we got yelled at lol, but we just smiled and waved and left our card just in case she changed her mind. 😉

While with my new comps for the day we met with this member they have in their ward. He asked if anyone here listened to country music, and I shot up my hand and he said, "Do you know that song that says that every broken road led me straight to you?" Little does this man know, that I sing that song on a daily, lol. Well he keeps talking and I literally say. "Well, God bless the broken road," and he said, "Amen". That's how you incorporate a country song in a lesson lol.🤠 Literally best lesson I have ever done!!

Before mission prep last night we went to eat dinner with this fam at their house. They have six kids. The oldest is 18 and the youngest is 5. Let me tell you how unhinged the two youngest kids were. They are 5 and 6, a boy and girl. They were literally climbing all over us while we were just trying to make conversation with the mom while she was cooking. So at one point, I look over and the girl was on top of Sister Simmons shoulders, and we were literally trying to talk but these kids were wild. Literally, treating us like a jungle gym. 🐒 I had an idea, I know this probably is not a good thing to do with kids but I found a ball and started throwing it. They then began chasing after it to give it back to us. It was a little bit of fetch, but hey it worked lol oops😬🐕.

After that we had to head to the church and we parked in the parking lot and decided to respond to texts and set up lessons. While doing this, we see all the youth show up and go in for mission prep. One of them gets out of the car and heads inside and then runs back out and starts throwing up chunks🤮. Sister Simmons and I are literally just watching this kid throw up, it was crazy. We then see him head inside with his friend and grab a bucket and mop and starts cleaning it. Then he turns and looks straight at us, and we realized he saw us, and waved.  It was so awkward. We soon had to pass by to head inside, pluggin' our noses.🤥

Later we were driving home from mission prep and sister Simmons was whippin' the wheel. All of the sudden we see a man in the middle of the road trying to cross it. So she brakes sooo hard but we barely saw him cause he was wearing CAMO and was also holding an ax. It was crazy. Who wears camo at night when jaywalking with an ax? Colorado is wild y'all! We almost committed first degree murder to a guy holdind an ax!

I just wanted to end with this thought about our friend Thomas who is getting baptized next week. He really is the most self less man I know, other than my dad. He has sacrificed so much to be able to have the opportunity to be baptized. He saw an ad for the church on Facebook and referred himself about a year ago. Missionaries back then fell out of contact with him but he randomly called us two months ago saying he wants to meet again. We started teaching him and his progress is crazy.  He reads about five chapters of the Book of Mormon a day even though he has no privacy at home because he doesn't even have a room to sleep in. He sleeps on the couch. With family that passes by who aren't supportive of the church at all it is very hard on him. He has an oxygen tank cause he has really bad lungs and it's hard for him to get around. So because of his health issues he doesn't have a job.

On the past Fast Sunday, I looked over and I see him filling out a tithing slip even though he's not even a member yet. He went thrift shopping and found a suit for his baptism and he's also planning on getting his hair cut. This man truly is so devoted to the church even though he doesn't have that much. Thomas has taught me so much. He has sacrificed so much ro be able to be baptized. I wanted to share this scripture as well from 2 Nephi 9:20:

"And ye shall offer for a sacrifice unto me a broken heart and a contrite spirit. And whoso cometh unto me with a broken heart and a contrite spirit, him will I baptize with fire and with the Holy Ghost, even as the Lamanites, because of their faith in me at the time of their conversion, were baptized with fire and with the Holy Ghost, and they knew it not."

I know if we sacrifice things that really don't matter, or our time, and dedicate it, we will be able to align our will with His. I know we will be able to be blessed because of it. All we have to do is come to Him with a broken heart and a contrite spirit.

I love y'all!! I hope y'all have a great week, and all my Texas people have fun in the sun.  It is literally freezing up here😑
