Hey y'all!! I'm back!!
I know what y'all were thinking yesterday, where's Lexi's email? 😱 Is she not sending one?? Well PSYCH cause it's transfers again, so P-day is today!!
I hit up the nursing home on Tuesday and it's a real party in there🥳🕺. Everyone's so thrilled to be there, and it's just so lively. 😐 (I hope you can catch my sarcasm in that one) We meet with two ladies there. They both are less active, but the first one has the goal to come back so that's awesome!! The second, well let me put it this way... she's about 4 foot 10 and every time she opens the door she is so shocked about how tall I am. We have been there about 5 times. "It's like looking at the "Empire State Building" she said one time. She doesn't really remember anything about church so we teach her one principle at a time. Taking it real slow!! Such a sweet lady tho.

So we had a packed day on Wednesday. We had a bunch of friend lessons and they all had members present. 💁♀️ Well the thing is that these lessons are all out side at the park. For the first one we were meeting at a table but it has a pavillion. So yay!! We then saw a storm coming but it's Colorado so we are thinking its gonna be a light drizzle and then it will disappear. Well, our friend pulls up and so does the member and it's starts pouring, like hard core pouring. The roof covering the table is straight up metal. So we can barely hear anything. I'm like screaming the plan of salvation hoping he can hear me. Oh and during this whole time there were two young boys that were playing basketball. Just wanted to mention this because of the Adversary's determination haha. 🫡👏 iIt had me shocked lol!! Our friend brought his cat and I guess when the thunder hit the cat really was a scaredy-cat🤣🥁 (get it). Later we had a lesson with Nelson who's 16 and such a cool dude. He bakes cakes for fun!! We had his lesson and it was perfectly sunny. That just shows how Bipolar Colorado is.

Anyway, we were driving and on the way there and we see the fellowship we asked to come, pull an illegal u-turn right in front of us. I almost honked my horn at him! We pull up to the park and he then said did y'all see me on the road, and we were like yes haha. He was then, "well don't tell my mom!" I'm dead 💀 The lesson went great with Nelson! He said he's bringing brownies next time, I said, bet!!!🤝😎
Literally during half this week Colorado decided to pull a fast one on me and it was 65 degrees in AUGUST!!!!! Like what???!! I literally cannot, I'm definitely a Texan cause this 65 degrees crap ain't flyin' for me. Well, sorry about the rant we headed to this members house in my sweater and pants that I had to bring back out. I just thought it was crazy!

So y'all know that classic scene in the movie where the waiter is pouring the person water and then something big happens and spills on the person cause he didn't stop. This literally happened to me, lol the members son was pouring me water and then someone made a joke and he was looking at the person and water starts spilling all over me! 🤦♀️ 🚿 It was like the Niagara!!
Also this week we were tracting and every time we do, it just starts pouring rain but I got my trusty pink umbrella so don't worry!! Well, we knocked on this door and this older man walks out. I'm not the one to stereotype but every time an older man opens the door he always reacts like we are literally Satan him self. Well, this man was different he had no idea what a Mormon was and said his buddy in highschool dated one and that's it. He starts asking us all these questions and turns out he totally thought we were FLDS. He asked like what kind of place we lived in and he was definitely thinking cult road vibes (@logan @jenna crazyyyy!!) Texas peeps know what I'm talking about Bay and Tay Bini😬. Well, he then asked "Do y'all get to choose your husbands?" and I'm like, "No when I was 12 I was shown a pic of a 60 year-old and told that's who will be my husband. "👴🫶 Haha this whole convo had me dead, so we educated this man. And at the beginning of this whole convo he was not interested in taking a Book of Mormon cause he doesn't read much, but I literally bore the strongest testimony of the BOM and told him that "I'm not a reader either but this book will change your life", and he took it, so hallelujah!! 🙌 Also found out from another door we knocked on that umbrellas here are literally attract lighting so thank goodness we didn't die this week!!
We went to this members house for dinner and he asked how much time we have left we told him about 25 min until we gotta skedaddle. He said perfect that's enough time for a piano concert, a board game, and y'all to share your message. Umm sir no, it is not, but ok. 🤨 They then did this whole melody song from How To Train Your Dragon. Then he said this game takes exactly 10 minutes and he pulls out this game called Escape. Let me tell you how stressed those 10 minutes were. Cause with this game there was even a scary music soundtrack, it was high stress level. 😳🫠

Church on Sunday was awesome. Our two friends came, that usually come. But the gym was closed cause of paint so it was only the chapel pews open. It was great cause it made people actually sit next to each other and use the front row. It was so packed because a boy in our ward named Austin gave his farewell. He is off to Yakima Washington!! Also the youth sang and they begged us to join them to sing the FSY melody. That brought me back to my farewell 🥹 when us Kimball sisters, who aren't musically gifted at all, sang "Sisters in Zion" but we slayed!😬🙌💁♀️ it was good cause it also made all the RM's to join too so we weren't the oldest ones there haha!! It was a great experience because after we were sitting with Ryder who joined the church his junior year in 2022. He was introduced to the church through his girlfriend (this is giving type and shadow of some people I know🤔) but he started to tear up when Austin was giving his talk. It's so cool to see someone who's the only one in his family part of the church come to a family ward full of people he doesn't know, and to sit by some random sister missionaries to partake of the sacrament. It just melts your heart. Well anyway, Ryder heads back to BYU this Friday and he said I'll prob see you on campus in a year, which is not wrong, but just crazy to think about lol!!
I was reading in 3 Nephi 13 and I just love these verses!!
"31 Therefore take no thought, saying, What shall we eat? or, What shall we drink? or, Wherewithal shall we be clothed?
32 For your heavenly Father knoweth that ye have need of all these things.
33 But seek ye first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things shall be added unto you."
As we seek God's kingdom first, he will provide for our needs. No matter if life gets tough and busy, if we put God as a priority in our life, we can receive so many more blessings.
We have this less active lady who's goal is to come to church and go to the temple and all this stuff. And we have been giving her the same invite for about 4 weeks now to read her scriptures daily. She said it's so hard to actually set side time to sit down and read and she's not wrong cause that's literally the opposition who does not want us to read the word of God. But I told her once you make that time to read the BOM everyday, you will see your life change. Because God knows our needs and he will provide for them once we meet him halfway.
Thanks for reading my rant for the day. Do your girl a favor and open up them scripts and lock in!!
