Hey y'all! It's getting muy frio here!! All my peeps in Texas consider y'all selves lucky with the 90s, I miss the heat!! Even though I know Hermana Kearl, who's basically besties with my fam now, is not a big fan of having no fall weather in Texas lol!! And my socks are all falling apart haha! So yay😑 Let get this thing going!!
P-day was chill! We went to Chick-Fil-A and y'all know where they have the kids play ground? Well we were sitting right next to it, and in between our table and the playground was this glass wall. So you can see the kids perfectly, and the kids can see us. I swear it was like an aquarium for kids. Anyway, one kid was putting his whole mouth on the glass and we could see the whole inside. It was seriously like watching wild animals. One of them was right next to one of the elders on the other side of the glass, just crying and it was literally so hard not to look at him ahah!! 🐒🐟

We carved pumpkins as a district and it was fun! Not that exciting... mine looked like someone dropped it! Def not a Mona Lisa type stuff! Carving pumpkins took me back to me and @kateberryhill going ham with a baseball bat last year with our pumpkins haha! Sister J is a piano prodigy so she takes any chance she gets to play the piano and on P-day she is going crazy on the keys. She was playing Adele and it was so fire. She literally is Beethoven himself! 🎹🔥
We had interviews on Tuesday with Pres. And we showed up and usually we will see a sister missionary who's waiting for her comp, and MPs wife Sister Kotter! But we showed up and we are already late for our set time, but no one's on the couches. It's just us, so we start freaking out thinking we are at the wrong church building, and we check the schedule and it was at the one we were at. So we walked around to the other side and we were going up the stairs in the dark when I misstepped and literally ate it, grabbing Sis. J to go down with me ahaha!! Had us dead! Then this family history consultant sees us and sees how worried and lost we looked. So he then takes us back to the place we were at! So we sit there waiting, hoping that Pres is in the room about to come out, and we are in the right place! Finally Pres comes out with a companionship of sisters who ig went in together, and we told him him the whole story!

We went to another nursing home but this one is like high tech! So we can't just walk in! We have to log in and do some password thingy and I'm not all about that. My mom always taught me that if you want to get in somewhere just walk right in with your phone to you're ear. So we stalked this old lady outside and she finally heads inside and we both just head in with her ofc phone to ear. This security guy was like 'can I help you?', and I just kept on walking like we got an important business meeting to go to. We finally get to the elevator and were able to talk to this old lady about getting back to church. Tip numero uno act like you is important, cause we are 💁♀️ We are on the Lord's time. 💪💼
This has got to be the craziest story ever. We walk into this members house and we were talking to her and she gives us a brief warning that the women who's been living there temporarily, is in a lot of pain and has been taking drugs so she was loud. All of the sudden we hear her screaming so bad like a horror movie. The member let's random people stay with her only if they pay rent, but the women downs stairs is about to be evicted cause she got in the car accident years ago and never healed correctly, so she's in pain constantly. Instead of going to medical professionals she goes to the streets for some of that real stuff and so she can't pay rent cause she's broke, and she's not all there all the time. So the lady is coming up the stairs screaming that (we) the missionaries took her pain meds. Y'all know me, I saw them on the counter and thought they look like fun and stuffed them into my bag. Hoping y'all can sense my sarcasm. Anyways, this was a crazy experience definitely took a vid of it lol. But I told the member she's got to go cause we are concerned, and the member was like do y'all think y'all can go down there and pray for her, and I'm like 'Ummmmmm we can pray for her up here.' I'm not going in to a basement with a Crack addict. Def not on my bucket list haha!
Y'all God hears prayers because I have been working with this lady every Friday for the past three transfers to come back to church. This lady's name is Marty Webb I call her Sister Webb cause she's a member. But Sister Webb was baptized when she was 8 and then at 18 stopped going to church cause she got married to a non member and started her whole life. This is back when I was with Sis Arnold so she and I stopped by her house and she didn't come to the door. So we were walking back and all of the sudden we hear the door creak so I run back up and this older lady met us there, and she invited us in for some water, and that's when it started! (Pssst missionary tip 101. Anyone asks if y'all need water say yes, it's a great way to get in to someone's house to share a message😁)
Anyways, Sister Webb knows nothing about the church so we rethought everything. She recently lost her husband who was her best friend 🥹🥺 so we taught the Plan of Salvation and how she can get sealed to her husband!! Y'all she's been reading the Book of Mormon everyday and this is basically like teaching a friend cause she doesn't know that much but now she's a pro. And yesterday she made the decision to come back to church after 60 years of not going!! She sat with us in the pews and she said that when she went to church there was no cushions and I was just smiling the whole time. Wow, yes, I love seeing the light of Christ light up when we teach new people about the gospel, but to see light relight in an inactive person has gotta be the very best thing ever!! I don't wanna be a cringe missionary, but I love missionary work!! 😁🫶💝
I stole a polygamist book. Let me explain. We help the library out, and we were organizing books. They said we can take one book from the religious section, and my comp grabbed this journal Book of Mormon. I saw this anti book about the most truest religion ever, aka us. I was like, 'I need to take that so no one reads it', so I took a polygamist book about how we still practice polygamy. I don't know about y'all, but I got one mom, and I like it that way. So I consider my self kinda a hero for saving the world one anti book at a time!🦸♀️😇
Y'all this is crazy!! Me and Sis J walked in for dinner at a members house! And we thought this is gonna be a regular dinner appointment but we thought wrong! We sat down and they start giving a slide show presentation of which of their sons we are gonna marry when we get home! They were really selling their sons real hard! Definitely had to try and steer the convo there! It was crazy! Sorry y'all but I'm practically engaged when I get home ahah! 💍 💁♀️

Ok y'all my recent convert in my first area, Soaring Eagles, texted me this week and it made my heart melt!! Thomas was one of my very first baptisms on the mish with, my trainer, Sister Simmons! And finding him and putting him on date was just an amazing story cause he was soooo ready for the gospel. He's been waiting for this since pre-mortal life and he's just soooo elect. But after I left, Thomas became a ward missionary and he's just soooo awesome!! But he sent me this text that I'll just copy and paste:
"Thank you for never giving up on me at the moments in my life where I was giving up. You helped keep me in there. Thank you Sister Kimball I spoke at a baptism today and it was amazing!! You and Sister Simmons was the first Missionaries I met well after I got out of the hospital. The first memory that stayed with me when they said I'll never regain my memory back. What can I say, God is good to me. My memory is slowly coming back, but yes I use that picture matter of fact everyday on my phone lock screen" 🥹😭
Saw this and it had me bawling like a baby. I know for a fact that God is aware of all of us! At a point when I feel like I wasn't accomplishing anything, I receive this text!! I'm so proud of Thomas and all of the things he has done!! He even has us as his lock screen🥹
I have been studying Isaiah recently and wow!! Heres my fav verses I read from Isaiah 53!
4 Surely He has borne our sicknesses
and carried our pains;
But we esteemed Him stricken,
smitten by God, and afflicted.
5 But He was wounded for our transgressions;
He was bruised for our iniquities.
The chastening upon Him made us whole,
and with His stripes we are healed.
Then I was reading Jesus the Christ earlier this week and I think his words are better than mine but it said, "It was not physical pain, nor mental anguish alone, that caused Him to suffer such torture as to produce an extrusion of blood from every pore; but a spiritual agony of soul such as only God was capable of experiencing. No other man, however great his powers of physical or mental endurance, could have suffered so; for his human organism would have succumbed, and syncope would have produced unconsciousness and welcome oblivion. In that hour of anguish Christ met and overcame all the horrors that Satan, ‘the prince of this world’ could inflict."
I don't think any of us can be so close to understanding the atonement but I think we should all try. My love for my Savior has ultimately increased so much since I started my mission and to try to understand his suffering for us!! I encourage you all to do the same!!
