What’s up!!

It’s been a longggggggg week!! Let's just say it dropped to -8 this week!! And man I'm freeezing!

I learned my lesson not to spray Windex on the windows outside cause it literally froze I felt very dumb at that point of time. 🤦‍♀️

We had zone training this Tuesday and I don't recommend sitting in the front cause every time someone asked someone to read, I was always asked.  I mean I'm fine with it.  I love the sound of my own voice, but gosh some words are hard hahaha!!

We had a really good zone training about conversion I'll share more about that later. But they had this senior missionary couple standing up and we had to name attributes of this couple and I was writing them on the board.  Let me tell you my penmanship was literally so elegant like I popped off. Pic below!!

Pikes peak isn't she a beaut??🫶

We had a lesson with this fam in my ward that has  7 siblings and they all live together. Only one of them is married but she's in another ward.  Anyways, this family has got to be the funniest family. We were literally sitting there being attacked nonstop. They literally said they will assume that if I get transferred it's because I had a secret boyfriend here, and I was sooo disobedient. I literally told them that there's a 99.9% chance that I will be transferred so they cannot be assuming that, and that just added more fuel to their fire. It was crazy. They then start making fun of those "Texans" who buy ski stuff only to go once a year. I had to defend myself but I did a really bad job. Haha… it literally was crazy. I mean I did go to Vail once to ski!! 💁‍♀️⛷️ They ended this convo about how they want to roadtrip to Texas for my wedding, so I think I sold them on Texas!!!

So since Sis. Ducker is dying in a week, everyone wants to feed us. So we have had no dinner spots open.  So people have been signing up for lunch, which means no lunch nap time. 😉 So Sis Ducker has been having to deal with cranky me at like 3:00pm because that's when the tiredness hits me. So pray for her y'all. It's been rough.

Y’all we had dinner with some friends we are teaching, and they have 5 dogs. As y’all know I'm not a big animal person. I mean if I had to choose it would be a dog because everyone knows cats are evil, plus I'm allergic. My mom was the type to “love animals with her eyes” so I always tell people that, lol. Ok, I sound like a horrible person. If it makes you feel better, an animal bit me once so I have trauma. Ok I lied, I never gotten bitten but I'm trying to justify myself. It’s just not my preferred option, but I would, if it was Trixie 2.0 (my dog from home, may she rest in peace).

Anyway there's was no point of me going on and on like that. So, I was drinking my water and when I drink water I usually close my eyes, cause this place isn't the most sanitary of places. But I accidentally opened my eyes there was a dog hair in my water.  No worries I switched cups with my comp, when she wasn't looking, lol jk. I'm not mean, or am i?🤨

So we got parked on Saturday which means no driving cause it was icy. But we had a baptism to go to, not ours unfortunately. So we has Sis Donelson come with us and she not the most time managed person. The baptism started at 11 and it was 11:01, so we walked down to meet her at the entrance of our complex. But we kinda underestimated the cold because I literally thought I was on Mt. Everest.  It was literally frigid. Well, turns out she wasn't using Maps or Waze or even an actual paper map. So she called me and I had to direct her to our place. Anyways, she shows up windows down, and it's a 3 seat truck. Honestly though there was  barely a middle seat cause it's a stick shift. So I'm basically sitting on sister Duckers lap.  There was no seatbelt, and we were literally bracing for our lives. Like there was no thought in this members mind, it was sooooo slick. In that moment I said a prayer for our lives!

After the baptism Sis. Donelson dropped us off and me and Sis. Ducker geared up. We put so many layers on, you can't even imagine!! I was prepared for what ever this weather brought me!! We started walking like a mile to our lunch appointment, and BBQ was on the line so it was worth the hustle.  But when we got there our member was shocked we walked.  She said, “ Wait I asked if y'all could go out today?!”  And I explained to her that she asked if we could go out, not If we could drive. ☝️🤓 Because I really didn't want her to cancel so we walked. She then said well I would have picked y'all up, haha oops!! They then drove us to our service at the Lee's house (another member). They weren't home but I know their code, and I'm well trusted, so they let us in to help them out. While cleaning, Enoch, their 8 year-old, ran inside. If you read standards, which is a rule book for missionaries, y'all would know we can’t be in a room with an anyone under 18 alone. So I asked Enoch where his parents were.  He informed me that he ran home and they were still driving and now since it was -5 outside I didn't want the poor kid to freeze, and I sure didn't want me to freeze, so I made him go upstairs to his room so we were obedient missionaries 💁‍♀️ His mom then came in so we were safe.

Don't worry we got BBQ as a reward!!

Well, while we were at their house they informed us that we weren't allowed to walk anymore with the sun being down. That’s how we were going to get to dinner. So Sis. Lee drove us, and then picked us up, and then drove us to our other appointment. Then she picked us up and drove us to get milk shakes. Can I get a round of applause for Sister Lee? She is a queen!! 🙌👑 Mom of 7, under 8 and taking care of the missionaries!!

Well, we couldn't drive to church so we got a ride in the party bus (the Lees van). This is where Jarom the 7 year-old leans over to me, to tell me the reason why Enoch, the 8 year-old, made me a necklace. He says,"psssst Kimball (they call me Kimball, they never say sister) Enoch likes you, that's why he made you that necklace." I was like “ok hah let's not talk about this" cause I didn't want Enoch to hear and get mad.  Hahaha… and then Jarom says, "But He has a crush on you." Haha I was dead!! So watch out y'all I'm called for!

HYRUM!!! Number 7!!

January 2025

We got to church Sister Lee precedes to be like “Watch Hyrum (the 2 month-old) who's in his car seat drinking his bottle.  She then said don't worry I'll be in the same room soo all you have to do is make sure he's drinking his bottle. She then runs off to the back of the chapel. I then turn around and there is no parent of this child, to be seen. Literally, me and my comp felt so illegal watching this unclaimed child. Finally a youth we know walks in and we tell her she has go watch this child cause we can't haha. So we left, don't worry this ward is tight so they all know each other. We might have to sit down with Sis Lee and explain to her that we cannot watch her children. Hahaha.

Round of applause for the penmanship on the board 👏💁‍♀️

Who knew pick up sticks or even matching game can cause so much contention? I was playing with some children and all I was trying to do was literally help this 3 year-old remember where the other zebra was. But noooooooo cause you will get yelled at by kids for trying to help their sister out. 🤪

Recently, we were on the phone with this member who had been through a lot lately with health. And so we were calling to check up on him. We asked if there's anything we can do for him, and he says yes stay in the church, and to keep doing what we are doing even after the mission. He said if not when he dies, he will haunt us. So that was comforting.

This kinda goes in to what I wanted to talk about for my little spiritual thought. There's this story about three truck drivers who were applying for a job and the manager goes, “Why should I hire you?” to each one of them! The first one goes "Well I can get 5 inches to the edge of the street with out falling off while driving."  The second one says "Well I can't get at least 2 inches from the edge with out falling off." The 3rd one goes "Well I'm staying as far away as I can from the edge cause I don't wanna fall off." The 3rd truck driver got the job!! We wanna make sure we are far away from the edge. We don’t wanna fall off the bed and the only way to do that is to make sure we are far enough in the bed. I think about the Anti Nephi Lehis and this verse sticks out!! "And as sure as the Lord liveth, so sure as many as believed, or as many as were brought to the knowledge of the truth, through the preaching of Ammon and his brethren, according to the spirit of revelation and of prophecy, and the power of God working miracles in them—yea, I say unto you, as the Lord liveth, as many of the Lamanites as believed in their preaching, and were converted unto the Lord, never did fall away." They never did fall away. What are you doing to make sure you are fully converted?

Love y'all!! Stay warm!! Don't die!

XOXO
