Hey y’all!! This one is gonna be short, so sit back and relax! Also, it’s crazy how small this world is. I feel like all my peeps in Texas are now on missions with my friends from BYU — it’s insane!!

I went on some exchanges with my girl, Sister Chat!!! Her name is actually Sister Chatelain, but I’ll probably only write it out correctly once, so we’re gonna roll with the nickname. We had a pretty fun time. She actually came out with me, so we were basically reminiscing the whole time. Sister Chat loved the exchange so much the first time that after DC, she was like, "We should go on another one, like, right now!!" So, she came to Cottonwood twice this week because it’s amazing!!

We pull up for our weekly lesson with the Lee kids. They’re the family with 7 kids under 8, so we pull up and they give the nicest welcome every time: "Ugh, why are y’all here again?" The two oldest, Enoch and Jarom, adore me, and they show it by shooting me with their Nerf guns every time. Never my companion, but always me — so yay 😑! But I gave them candy, so that made up for all the pain I caused them! 🤦‍♀️

We had such a spiritual lesson with Sister Webb! I’ll give y’all the summary of who Sister Webb is: She’s a less active member who was baptized at 8 but got married to a non-member and never really came to church. I knocked on her door with my companion at the time in July, and we brought the gospel back into her life. We’ve been meeting with her every Friday ever since, and she’s been coming to church since October!! Well, my goal is to get this girl to the temple this transfer. We had Bishop come to this last lesson, and it’s looking like that might happen soon, so I’m very excited!! So, y’all pray for her!!

Sister Chat got to meet the infamous Diane!! And Diane asked what her name was, and she heard "Shut," so we just ran with it. She was Sister Shut for a while. Diane also has a cat? I don’t really know for sure, but she says she has a cat that comes at night and lays with her, which honestly terrifies me. But she feeds it, and the food is gone, so someone is eating it.

Got to see my all-time fave people, the Huyetts, who do our cleaning inspections. They always get so excited when they see me still in Cottonwood. They truly are the best, and they bring these really yummy cookies, so that’s a plus.

Y’all, this New Year’s was crazy. I entered the new year dead asleep, lol. It’s foggy up here in Colorado. It was a party and a half — me and Sis. Ducker were partying hard in REM cycle 3, lol!! But what’s a better way to enter the new year, dead tired, because of serving the Lord! Woke up at like 2 am, took a pic, and went back to bed.

A little update on our friends!! Apryl and Brett are thriving!! Apryl will probably soon be rebaptized. We had a crazy cool lesson with them when some of our ward members came and gave Apryl a priesthood blessing. They’ve fallen in love with reading the Book of Mormon, and I’m just soooo excited for them!! This is probably my last transfer here in Cottonwood, so it’s gonna be hype!!

Wanted to share some of my fave verses from 2 Nephi 8:

"Hearken unto me, ye that follow after righteousness. Look unto the rock from whence ye are hewn, and to the hole of the pit from whence ye are digged. Look unto Abraham, your father, and unto Sarah, she that bare you; for I called him alone, and blessed him. For the Lord shall comfort Zion, he will comfort all her waste places; and he will make her wilderness like Eden, and her desert like the garden of the Lord. Joy and gladness shall be found therein, thanksgiving and the voice of melody."

We should look to Abraham and Sarah, who were great examples of righteousness and great faith!! This makes us a promise that our wilderness will be like the garden of Eden! Our weaknesses will be made strong, and it says we can find joy!!
