Hey y'all!

It's been forever... the longest week and a half of my life! I know y'all missed me!! A lot of stuff happened, so Imma try and make this brief.

I found out I'm staying in Soaring Eagles so that's exciting, but sadly we are having a funeral for Sister Schauers cause she's leaving! So it will just be me and Sister Simmons! So wish me luck 😬

It's been a very LONGGGGG WEEK!!!!

Yesterday I was struck with illness. I did not feel good all day. We went to a members house for dinner. I kid your not, I ran in and threw up all over her bathroom. Thank goodness most of it landed in the toilet 🙏 My comps and I made a decision to go to the apartment that night and call it a day, because of my illness. But I'm feeling better, so don't worry. No, estoy enferma!! I've also been doing Duolingo everyday since all my frans are all learning languages, so imma about to be multilingual😁

We met a lot of interesting people this week. Y'all know the Scotts already, but they are recent converts and we had a bomb lesson with them.  They also watched General Conference which is amazing. We talked about patriarchal blessings, so hopefully they can get theirs soon. I see very high potential for them. They did call us out when we regifted lemon bars someone gave us. IDK how they knew, but very awkward 😬 It's chill tho.

We had a really sad moment this week.  We met an old woman while tracting.  We asked for her number and she gave it to us but then we were talking more, and we told her we would text her.  She then says "Wait how did you get my number?" We told her that she gave it to us, and then she says "No I didn't" so we decided to leave it alone cause she definitely has dementia. She told us to come again. Super sweet lady. 

We met another lady. Her name is Alice and she sounds just like Tweety Bird from Looney Tunes. She is just the sweetest old lady. Every time we talk to her she always brings up the war in Israel and how her daughter is a Pentecost and they have to wear their hair down and don't wear any makeup. With out fail she mentions these two things, like even if we are talking about Jesus Christ, she mentions the war in Israel. Very sweet lady haha

On Friday we had district council and it went over time so we ran to our car so we could go to lunch. We were running very late for a lesson, so we had to get food on the way. We saw this dark alley that had a wings place. It was very sketchy but we decided to get some wings. Let me tell you how shocked were when we had these wings. They were truly sooo gas. We will definitely be going back there again. A very diamond and rough situation.

While we were tracting again we met a kid who's about 17 and we were talking to him about the gospel. He seemed very interested. We were all in a deep convo when we hear from their Ring doorbell his mom say, "What do you think you are you doing?" He then said he's talking to the missionaries. She says to him, "Check your phone." So I definitely think we got this kid in trouble on accident. Very awkward😬

We finally put our friend Jason on date. So he will be hitting the water on April 27th hopefully.🙌⛲️🔥 The adversary really hits people hard when they are about to make the best decision because he ended up in the hospital for health issues. So pray for our friend Jason. He's been getting better, so hopefully we will be filling up the font on the 27th.🙏

We had a lesson with our friend Thomas!! Let me tell you this man is a g. He bought like tabs and markers to mark up his BOM.  It was very awesome. We had a planned lesson with him but we couldn't get a women to join us so we had to meet at a 7/11. We realized when we got there that there were no chairs to sit. Let me paint y'all a picture. Thomas doesn't have a car so he had to walk all the way there with his walker. This man pulls up and says that he loved how he had to walk here cause he's been needing to get out side. We felt so bad. Since there were no chairs but we straight up had a lesson in the 7/11 parking lot. 

I know every single missionary mentioned the eclipse in their email but let me tell you it did nothing in Colorado. It just put this weird filter on everything around us. Definitely was giving Bonnie and Damon stuck in the prison world vibes ifykyk. Me and Sister Simmons were dying laughing about that one haha.

The funniest thing happened, Sis Simmons and I had to use the bathroom soo bad. We could not hold it. We had a lesson with a member, her name is Sister Selvage, super sweet lady. We asked to use her bathroom and she said yes of course, but the door doesn't shut all the way. So we were thinking that it would be a little cracked open, but it turns out this door only shuts half way. So scroll down to the funniest picture ever of Sister Simmons in the restroom.🚽😬 Literally had us dying laughing.

Also I got my first bloody nose ever lol. We were just sitting in the car texting people. All of the sudden my nose starts dripping blood all over my white sweater. It was like a faucet, it just kept running. I did not know that my nose held that much blood, it was crazy. This dry weather is getting to me. We ran into Panda and headed to the bathroom. Sister Simmons, being very worried about my sweater, is full on washing it in the sink. Good news is that the sweater made it and will be living a long and happy life. 

I was having a rough day last week. Just wasn't feeling up to anything, and the sacred music app was really getting to me. Those songs are awful, no offense to anyone who likes them. They just really need to start poppin out bangers, if I'm going to have to only listen to that for the next 18 months. Anyway, we were doing some comp study in a Taco Bell and they have the same Playlist full of Adele and Billie Ellish songs. They played this one song that's been stuck in my head called Don't You Worry Child!! Shout out to Leah, Maclaine and Abi!! Literally that song came on and made my day. The Lord knows when we just need a little boost🙏

This past weekend was general conference which is now really fun to watch as a missionary lol. Definitely the superbowl for missionaries. This one talk really did stick out to me.  It's by Elder Alexander Dushku and this is my fav quote that he says.

"There are many ways to receive heavenly rays of testimony... They may not be dramatic but all of them form part of our testimonies." 

This talk was so good cause not all of us have had moments that really have strengthened our testimony, and not all of us have had pillar of light moments, but we can have ray of light moments.  Those times that you have felt the Spirit big or small can still strengthen our testimonies. We don't always have to have big dramatic ones.
