Hey y'all!!
We had zone conference which was bomb like always, and Pres and Sister Kotter did the randomized role play again. I didn't get picked so hopefully it stays like that for 15 more months!!🤞 We have like 100 missionaries that are leaving this transfer so they all got to bear their testimonies which is always awesome to hear because right after you wanna work so hard and be the best missionary you can be. Sadly, then it fades away. I have been trying not to let that happen to me so I'm gonna try and stay on the motivational spiritual high!! So wish me luck, it probably won't last!
After that we had a lesson with the Nelson's who are members in our ward. Sister Nelson had a 210 area code for her number so I asked where she was from, and she said Texas. Then we got in this whole convo about Texas and she's from San Antonio and we were just talking all about it. She then asked what highschool I went to. I told her Reagan, and her whole persona changed and I found out she went to Clark. I thought we would be friends, I guess not jk. She and I still hit it off so well, and she was like finally another Texan in Colorado. I told her this is temporary. 🤣

We had dinner recently with another fam from the ward, and the mom tells us about this show that came out on Netflix right after I started my mish. It's about an abusive school that parents send their "rebellious" kids too. She tells us all about this show and it's so interesting and sounds so awful. Then she says that she actually attended that school when she was younger, and her parents signed her up. Then the school had guys come in the middle of the night and took her. It was crazy. She showed us a pic and everything and it's confirmed she went to that school. She told us how they were never allowed to talk to other students and how they had this room they would go to If they were bad. It was straight out of a documentary that me and my mom would watch, so crazy. But on a side note she found the church and her conversion story is amazing so yay🙌
Ok, so me and Sister Wilkens might have to go to Africa soon cause we have met so many people from Kenya. We were tracting and we knocked on a door and this lady opens the door and say "Missionaries" 😁 biggest smile on her face, and she said "come in, come in." She then says she said how we look so hungry but it was actually 8:30 so we told her we couldn't stay long, and that we just wanted to share a message. She then told us about how she is from Kenya and that we have to go there after the mission cause it's amazing, and we will love it. She told us all about it! Her son comes in and he's actually from Arizona and says he's been meeting with missionaries over there, which was such a crazy miracle that we found him. He then starts talking about how he is training for the Olympics and our minds went straight to our other friends from Kenya who are training too, Shadrack and Elvin!! This was a shot in the dark but I asked him if he knew them, and he said yes! What a small world!! Anyways, we had a bomb lesson with them and taught the restoration and they loved it. They actually have a Book of Mormon in Swahili so we asked them to read some verses for us, but they wanted us to read it so, yk I broke out my Swahili that I have been secretly working on, and I spoke so fluently they were so surprised😬!! Sooo sooon Pres might make me a Swahili sister missionary soon 🔜😁🙌

We were doing some stop bys, and we saw this elderly man sitting on the porch so we went up to talk to him and he's actually from Georgia and was in the army, so he was telling us all about the army. Like when I say all about the army, he told us ALL about the army haha. It took about 30 min and we finally brought up the Book of Mormon. He said he's never heard of it, but he said, "then people are nice" so at least we got something going for us. But we shared a 3 Nephi 11 and he loved it so he took one, and we set up another appointment!!😁 I'm really rooting for my guy Leroy tho🤞
One of our really progressing friends here in Eagle Point is Monique. She's a single mom to two kids Drarail and Elena! Drarail has got be the funniest 18 month I have ever met! We literally walk in and I kid you not, this kid made his way up into the cupboard and he pushed the door open and said boo!! 😅 Monique runs and gets him but literally so crazy. Then we are sitting there and the Spirit is so strong. All of the sudden this kid comes out of his hiding spot and runs around just in the diaper, it had me dying laughing!🤣
P-day was lit. The district is lit! Elder Reynolds is our DL. He's from somewhere in Utah lol but this is his last transfer and he thinks he's a pro a pickle ball. So like any normal missionary would do, we had a pickle ball tournament! Sister Wilks and I vs. His comp and him. Of course we were beasts at pickle ball. We showed them what's up!! After that the district went to the church for some recreational activities such as volleyball. I was serving and I served it and hit one of the elders in the face literally. It had us all dead on the ground 🤣 I had to apologize ofc but still was hard to hold back tears of laughter!

We were walking in the park you know doing the usual share the gospel, and btw it's a beautiful sunny day. Then of course since Colorado is literally Bipolar, its starts hailing and raining, so we run for cover under the playground. The wind is now going crazy, and we are getting soaked so I told Sister Wilkens that the only way to survive is to go in the tunnel of the playground. She said no, but it was worth a shot lol. So we sprint to the car and my Book of Mormon is soaked, so I had to get it dry, but now it looks like it's been read through a million times so that's good.
We had dinner with a fam from the ward and we were thinking about what we should teach them. They have a bunch of kids so Sister Wilkens said we can do the can smashing object lesson. I had no idea what this was so she told me it's where you place a Book of Mormon on the table and place your finger on it and then grab a can and smash your finger. But since your finger is on the Book of Mormon your finer doesn't get hurt. I had no faith in this lesson, but Sister Wilkens did it and her finger was ok. There was even a dent in the soup can we used, and the kids went crazy for it. The physics did not add up. Like I was still in disbelief so I had to do it myself to believe. I grabbed the dented can and I placed my finger on the Book of Mormon and I then smashed my finger with the can. After 5 minutes of contemplating and the kids cheering Sister Kimball over over again. You know what my finger was ok. It still makes no sense to me how it's not broken, but moral of story: have faith in your Comp.

With this lesson, we decided to focus on the power of the Book of Mormon. For this lesson I read the talk "The Book of Mormon: What our life would look like with out it" by Pres Russel M. Nelson! Such a good talk, but he talks about if we would choose rubies or the Book of Mormon what would we choose, and he calls us out, cause who would choose the Book of Mormon lol? Not me. He keeps talking about what the Book of Mormon is, and he says, "I testify that the Book of Mormon is truly the word of God. It contains the answers to life’s most compelling questions. It teaches the doctrine of Christ. It expands and clarifies many of the “plain and precious” truths that were lost through centuries of time and numerous translations of the Bible." I don't think we as members, fully comprehend that we have the fullness of the gospel and the Book of Mormon really does expand on what the Bible has taught us. I just wanted to end with my testimony that I know the Book of Mormon is true and as I have prayerfully studied it each day I have felt closer to God and the heaves truly are open! I have received answers to my own questions and been spiritually guided each day!
I always say "I love y'all" at the end and I just realized that, lol but I hope y'all are having a great summer🏄♀️☀️ Where ever y'all are, cause here in Colorado it's a blast 😁
