On P-day last week we were at the church and since it was a nice day we decided to play volleyball outside. The sisters were out setting it up, and so the sisters said that we needed another rope. So me and my comp I headed to the church with the sisters, and when we got to the door, it was locked! Sister Parks then turned to me and asked for the key?๐Ÿ”‘๐Ÿ˜ฑ I then realized that I had forgotten to grab the keys, which were in the gym at the church. Which had our phones, which had the sims that had service for us to contact anyone.๐Ÿ˜ฌ The Elders eventually came running up, and we told them, and so we all started, just trying to find an unlocked window! The Elders went to this one window and tried to open it, and they decided it was locked. Sister Ducker and I noticed it looked kinda unlocked๐Ÿค” so with both of our strengths๐Ÿ’ช combined, we finally got the primary room window open! All the Sisters climbed through since the Elders never noticed, and we ended up locking them out, but we eventually let them in!๐Ÿ˜‡ The moral of the story is that you don't give Sister Kimball the church keys!๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ‘

We had zone training, which is just our zone (East High Plains), getting some training from the leadership and the mission leaders (Kotters).  It was such a great training just talking about how we can become more Christlike, and that includes obedience, integrity, diligence, and humility! "Sit down, be humble!"๐ŸŽต๐ŸŽง  After that, they had us play a game splitting us all up into tables, and they announced that we were playing Uno. Let me tell you how heated this game was. When it comes to anything that involves winning, I become pretty competitive, and so I won with the group I was in! ๐Ÿ†๐Ÿ˜œ Then, in the semi finals and it was me against Elder Hatfield (senior missionary) ๐Ÿ’โ€โ™€๏ธvs.๐Ÿง“. It was heated and everyone around us was cheering! I was putting +4 cards and so close I yelled Uno and all of the sudden Elder Hatfield whips out +4 and I'm suddenly losing๐Ÿ˜ข. It all went by so fast, but let's just say it was a tough loss. During the finals, President Kotter shouted me out, saying how an amazing example of humility I was, which I took it a compliment๐Ÿ’โ€โ™€๏ธ but everyone laughed, haha! ๐Ÿค”

Our friend Monique is on date!!!!!๐Ÿšจ๐Ÿ˜ฑ I sadly wasn't there to put her on date because I was on exchanges ๐Ÿ˜ญ.  Sister Wilkins was planning secretly to put her on date when I was gone, jk she said the Spirit told her I and I can't argue with that!! But I'm still so excited!! Monique is an awesome single mom who was raised Baptist. She was found when the Elders were tracting, and the Elders had to only meet with her on the porch cause there wasn't a man there.  But since we are sisters we can meet in her apartment! ๐Ÿ’โ€โ™€๏ธ The lessons have been so spiritual, and literally, she is so in tune with the Spirit. We had the big three lessons this week which tithing, law of chastity, and word of wisdom! And she said the only problem she will have is tea and coffee. But she's willing to give that up which is a huge blessing ๐Ÿ™Œ

I know what everyone's thinking "Lexi you are serving stateside, you only get fed American food", well y'all are wrong cause you forget we have members who have served in foreign places and idk why they always think, "oh imma cook them something weird so they can tell people they ate something weird." But I guess it's the thought that counts. Your girl had some Brazilian Hotdogs ๐Ÿ‡ง๐Ÿ‡ท.  So all y'all Brazilian missionaries, I'm one of y'all now! Just kidding, but Brazilian Hotdogs๐Ÿคค๐Ÿ˜‹ were so fire!! I was surprised. Definelty better than the American hot dogs! "Makes me want a hotdog real bad," ifykyk ๐Ÿ’โ€โ™€๏ธ๐ŸŒญ

We did some service on Saturday it took me back to the farm where I fed the chickens (read in southern accent๐Ÿค ), but seriously, it was some manual labor, we had wheel barrel dirt up a hill. And who would have thought that dirt could weigh so much๐Ÿง! Who needs a gym when you can head to the Jaces farm and do some manual labor and still gain some muscle.๐Ÿ’ช Sister Parks is in my district, but she has got to be the funniest person without even trying. She's from Alaska, and she grew up on a farm. While we were at service, she told me about the horse's salt rock that it licks.๐Ÿด๐Ÿชจ Of course she bet I wouldn't lick it and of course challenge acceptedโ˜๏ธ๐Ÿ˜ so I told her if I lick the rock she has to as well, so Sister Parks and I both know what horse rock salt tastes like, and let me tell you it tastes like a salted rock haah๐Ÿ˜‹๐Ÿ˜…

Sister Boyer from Soaring Eagles made a visit to her favorite Sister Missionary ๐Ÿ’โ€โ™€๏ธ She fed us some MOD pizza, which is my comps fav place to go, and it's my first time and it wasn't bad lol. Anyways, Sister Boyer is thriving, and she is moving to Memphis!! "Walking in Memphis"๐ŸŽต (iykyk). Those Tennessee Sister missionaries don't even gonna know what's about to hit them. Anyways, I love Sister Boyer, and she, of course, made my first two transfers as a missionary way better!! (Little appreciation note for da Boyer) ๐Ÿซถ

We were at a members house for dinner. The member was telling us her conversion story and how the church has blessed her life. She then said she found her baptism program the other day and wanted to show it to us. She hands us the program, and I'm just looking through it all of the sudden it literally slips out of my hand and lands in the food on the table, which has BBQ sauce on it. I quickly grab it, and it's covered.  I rushed to the kitchen to wipe it off. During this whole thing, the members are dying laughing while I'm stressing. I asked if she had more programs from that day, and she said no that was her only one. I felt so bad, but she just couldn't stop laughing. She then says that now she has a funny story to share when she shows people her baptism program. ๐Ÿคฆโ€โ™€๏ธ

We were tracting and we knocked on this door and a guy opened it and he seemed really nice. We asked if we could share a quick scripture with him, and he said sure. I asked if he had ever heard of the Book of Mormon before, and he said yes, and he has some questions for us after we share our scripture. We shared it, and he agreed with what the scripture taught. He then started asking us these questions he had, and we answered them. But then this conversation started leading into him telling us that we are deceived and that the Book of Mormon was some book Joseph Smith wrote. I wanted to say, "well, actually, he translated it."โ˜๏ธ๐Ÿค“ but he just kept ranting. This then turned to the fact that we don't have evidence and etc. Basically, this guy is a see to believe kind. But after making us feel awful, I interrupted him, shared a quick testimony, and we left. After leaving the bash war we just had, I was just thinking about everything this man said. I decided to bring my Book of Mormon out and a page was folded down and so i flipped it open to that page. I saw a scripture that was highlighted in hot pink (as it should๐Ÿ’โ€โ™€๏ธ) this is what the verse was.

"And now, I, Moroni, would speak somewhat concerning these things; I would show unto the world that faith is things which are hoped for and not seen; wherefore, dispute not because ye see not, for ye receive no witness until after the trial of your faith."(Ether 12:6)

We can't receive a full witness until we show our faith. This guy is gonna look everywhere in the world other than faith for a witness of the Book of Mormon. The thing is it's not see to believe, it's believe to see. I know that this church is true cause of not just one big spiritual moment in my life but repeating small moments that testify of the same thing. Every time I run into someone that bashes us so hard I just have to remember that Jesus Christ was the literal son of God and people still bashed him. I know that the Book of Mormon is true and Joseph Smith is a true prophet.

Love y'all!!

- Sister Kimball
