Hey, y’all wasss up? Tricked y’all this week, cause P-day is on Tuesday 🤪🙌

BTW, BYU is ranked 22, which is crazy but tbh, I knew it’s God’s team👆🙏!! The members here keep me updated and the Dallas Cowboys lost yesterday. So every member came up to me and asked me how I felt.  Of course I acted like it was the end of the world, cause it's so fun 🤠when they tell me all about how amazing the Broncos are, but they aren't, but I choose to be Christlike!! 🫠 I just thought that was funny!! Anyways, Go Cougs!!🤙

Ok, I’mma tell my favorite underdog story! It was P-day but this wasn't just an ordinary P-day, this was a zone P-day! The East Highplains zone gave out 400 BOM’s, so they were able to receive their reward, which was a zone pday! Now, there is this district called D4 who weren't the best at volleyball, but decided to enter the East Highplains Volleyball tournament of the century! This team included Sister Kimball, Sister Johnson, Sister Piutau, Sister Lewis (sister strength💪) and Elder Crevelanti, Elder Slack, and the trio Elder Eager, Elder Thompson and Elder Paskett.  Now D4 really didn't expect to win they just came to have fun! Some of D4 have never played volleyball in thier life, but gave their all😱! They were stretching and preparing while wearing their 5 and Below t-shirts that had flowers on it, that said "do it for the plot," so they weren't really scaring any other districts. 🤦‍♀️ D3 walks in with bagpipe music playing in the background and matching black shirts that say covenant cutters.  They had on sunglasses ready to decimate the other districts😎😑! D3 included two college volleyball athletes, and the AP’s and the rest are adequate volleyball players! Now D4 was frightened because they had to beat D3 to win the volleyball tournament😳! First it was D1 vs. D2 And D2 won that battle! D4 came together and prayed unto God for strength during this challenging rigorous game🙏! Now time passes and D4 is dominating the game the score is 25 to 20! D4 WINS THE GAME AND THE CROWD GOES WILD👏😲🥳! Now while mid celebration D3 is furious so they let D4 know that game was just to determine the bracket placements🧐😤! Now D4 knew this was a low blow, but they won in their hearts so they didn't care if they won the next game that much! Humble as they were, they fought hard in the next battle and beat D1! Now they continued on to their last game, the finals you may say, to determine the winner of the Zone P-day Volleyball Tournament! D3 vs. D4! It’s the 4th quarter, the score is neck to neck 24 to 24! D3 hits the ball over the net to the other side, and D4 sets bumbs and bam spikes the ball!😤🙌 Now this wasn't game point, they had to win by 2 to collect the trophy! The ball was going back and forth between the teams! Then the underdogs set bumb and spike one more time, and the other team dove to get the ball and they were too late! D4 couldn't believe it😲😱! They just won! They swear they heard the crowd cheer, "Rudy, Rudy, Rudy" (ifykyk) it was a good fight!  D4 won the national volleyball tournament of the Colorado Springs Mission. A team in which no one had hope, took the trophy home and slept in their warm beds that night! Sleeping peacefully!!😴🥱

D4 VS D3 who would have thought!

#1 fan!! Matching with Collins!! 😁

Ok y’all on Monday night I had the worst sleep of my life!! Like I literally could not sleep and I woke up multiple times in the night covered in sweat! My legs were itching and I literally kept checking my watch waiting for 6:30am to come, which is so funny cause that is my least fav part of the day! Right when the alarm went off I told Sis J about my restless night and how bored I was, and how itchy I was!! We turned on the lights and it turns out I had these red bumps all over the back of my ankles.  It was disgusting, and not it! But I decided to slather vaseline on them and press forward ignoring the problem all together!! Cause ignornace is bliss!! Literally I did my regular routine but everytime we saw a member I had them diagnose me, cause why ask a doctor when you can ask members!🤷‍♀️😁

They were all typing my symptoms in the computer and one said it was shingles or it could be chicken pox! I looked at her straight in the face and told her chicken pox doesn't happen in this century, cause it died out in the 1990’s turns out I was wrong. (dumb blonde moment for a second but ig I ain't blonde anymore RIP so can I even say that idk🤔)

Anyways, we went home that night, and I had my comp ductape socks on my hands so I wouldn’t itch!!🤣 My last resort was to bother the mission doc so I had another restless sleep, and I was dreaming about itching.   I would wake up and I was itching. It was the worst!! So I texted the mission doc and he called me and told me to buy a bunch of creams, but members all the day before gave me all these creams.  So I started to use them! Doc diagnosed me and I have a type of poison ivy which is something from a movie, for real! I'm not even in a jungle!  I'm in the suburbs like what 🤔! Well, turns out this is what I get for pulling weeds!! This is why you shouldn't pull weeds for an old lady kids! Lesson learned!! Get poison ivy… is now is checked off the bucket list😭 ✅️

Chicken pox yay😑

Did I tell y’all about our recent convert? Idk,well we have this recent convert and he was baptized a month before I came in to this area! His name is Jonathan but we call him Brother Shaffer cause we called him that once and he ate it up! Anyways, Brother Shaffer is on the spectrum and he will tell you all about what he has!! He has Autism and ADD and he will also mention his blood clots! Brother Shaffer truly has the heart of this ward! He is 32 btw! Anyways, a member introduced him to member tools and Brother Shaffer’s favorite thing to do is call people! So he started calling everyone on tools! We had no idea of this until we went to an inactive familes house and they asked us if someone recently got baptized l, so we told them yeah our friend, Jonathan, in June!! And they proceeded to tell us that they never get phonecalls at 9:30 pm so they were worried.  They saw it was a 719 number so they picked it up and it was Jonathan calling them about how he's sorry he didn't say hi to them at church. The guy then told him "it's because we don't go to church," but Jonathan was himself and just kept talking to him and hung up!

The less active members told us how they loved talking to him and just thought this guy was drunk at first, nut then caught on that he was on the spectrum! Anyways, Jonathan is now helping us missionaries out with calling the less actives cause his number ain't blocked so it works, haha!! I love Jonathan and he truly has influenced my life because he sees people really as best friends and as God's children!

Y’all we tracted into this lady and her name is Marsha!! But Marsha comes out and asked, “Do missionaries not talk to each other?” and we were like, huh? 🧐 Turns out the YSA sisters tracted an apartment building in our area the day before we came to knock on the same doors! Yay, for communication!  It's fine I'm not salty about it 🙄! But Marsha then has like a 30 minute conversation with us.  I don't even know how many topics she brought up but I’ll list some; how she's an athlete, the dentist, Trump, broncos, how good-looking her grandson is(I think she was trying to hook one of us up with him🤦‍♀️). How her ancestors are from Ireland, she spoke in a British accent, then a southern one, and an Irish one, how tall I am, how my comp looks like she's 12, and just on and on! She's not interested in the gospel but she took our card cause it was a picture of our Lord and Savior, and she collects those, so mabey one day!

We were tracting one day and met this family, but they speak solo Español and so I whipped out my butchered Spanish and asked if they would like to hear a mensaje sobre el amor de Dios, and they were like si!!! So I asked them for their number and told them I have friends who speak Spanish and I sent their number to the Spanish Elders! Well, anyways, we were coming out of dinner one night, and we got a referral and it said it was Denver, so I was assuming the Denver missionaries were calling. So I called the number of the guy they referred, but I accidentally, (and I always do this) I clicked the referring missionaries numbers instead! Well, they answered and they started to speak Spanish, so I said Hola and they were like, “Wait who is this?”,  I'm like this is the sister missionaries.  I'm like, “Is this Enrique?”, and they were like, “What area are you in?” So by this point I caught on, this was the Denver missionaries, but I was confused on why they were asking me what area, because I don't know any Denver mission areas! We then found out this was the Spanish Elders in our mission and they were able to tell us a huge miracle story about a lady they just sent us and they also let us know that the family we sent them was soooo interested in the gospel and they are so elect! Which is awesome cause our Spanish was no Bueno!! But just thought that was cool story and the lady they sent us, her name is Destiny but I will talk about her more next email!!

This was wild!! We stopped by this less active member who hasn't been to church in 12 years! This is crazy cause he starts asking us a bunch of questions and how we feel about certain stuff. He even brought up "Secret Lives of Mormon Wives," like what?? lol🤦‍♀️!

So we continued talking to him to find out why he's out and here.  In Colorado you find alot of people that are more spiritual than religious, which is the dumbest thing I have heard, but anyways… He mentioned how the first time he ever smoked weed was at a church Boy Scout camp, which is literally wild and crazy.  So we let him know that is not how it is, and gave him some words of wisdom!!

Y’all it's getting cold here and I'm not for it at all!! But Colorado actually has fall which isn't like Texas at all and that’s crazy! On Sunday it was frigid and everyone at church was so happy because it finally getting cold, and they always look at me and ask how the Texas girl is doing, like bruh?? It's literally awful, and I ain't ready!! Well anyways, that night at dinner the members are so excited for the cold and they tell us every time that every year on Halloween it snows, which ain't it!! But at dinner we had soup and peach cobbler which was so buss especially since it's frigid!! But in the weather app it said that we will have a few more 80° weather days so hallelujah!!

Crazy miracle story y’all!! We knocked on this door and this family from Bogota Columbia opens the door and they looked at me and they were like you kinda look like an Elder we had in Columbia, and I was like “Well my brother served in Columbia, like forever ago, so yall prob won't know him.” And they were like what's his name, and I said Elder Kimball and they looked at me and were like freaking out cause they were like “That Elder baptized my cousins brothers uncle”, and it was just crazy!! So shout out to Clay Kimball, and this whole story is actually a lie lol cause I don't meet any Colombians here! Sorry y’all!

Ok time for the spiritual thought, and I wanted to share some wisdom with y’all!! I was reading Moroni 7 this week and this verse stood out to me! "But charity is the pure love of Christ, and it endureth forever; and whoso is found possessed of it at the last day, it shall be well with him."

We should try to be more constant and unfailing, more longsuffering and kind, less envious, and puffed up in our relationships with others. As Christ lived so should we live, and as Christ loved so should we love. But the ‘pure love of Christ’ Mormon spoke of is literally that...Christ’s love. With that gift, we have everything; without it we have nothing and ultimately are nothing. Charity is not an act but a condition or state of being. Charity is attained through a succession of acts that result in a conversion. It's something that one becomes!! 🫳🎤

Ok, love y’all!! Soak in the warm weather for me!! Also shoutout to my baby sisters Collins and Capri, may God be with you this week!🫣

Sister Kimball
