Have any of y’all seen that movie? Because it scarred me as a child when I realized the uncle was trying to kill the kids. But this week has literally been a series of unfortunate events!

Let's get into it!

We had a Zone P-day last week because I gave out a bunch of Books of Mormon—just kidding, all of us did. We also had a volleyball tournament, and let's just say I carried. Here's the funniest story: I was going hardcore, so I was literally so thirsty and ran to get my water bottle. But, of course, the impatient people that they are continued to play. So I grabbed my bottle, and they wanted me to take a break while drinking water. Of course, I said no—I can still play! I’m a pro multitasker. And all of a sudden, the ball comes at me, and I hit it with one hand and scored while drinking water. Everyone fell to the floor, dying laughing. It was a legendary moment in volleyball history.

Anyway, it was a fun Zone P-day. We did so many sports, and everyone's legs were dying. We also did karaoke with "Strive to Be" songs, of course. And it was awful—I wish I had tomatoes to throw. But let's just say Sister Kimball was begged to sing for them, so I gave them a show.

Little do they know what's happening on the other side of the call!! 🔇🤗

Y’all, we were on a phone call lesson with our favorite youth, Emma! I was sitting there, and I felt like my necklace was on weird, so I touched it. And right when I touched it—bam!—all the pearls on my favorite "K" necklace literally started coming off. And, I don’t know if this is TMI, but they all went straight into my bra. We were all trying so hard not to laugh because we were teaching someone. So I asked this guy a question and then muted ourselves because there were literally pearls everywhere, and everyone was trying to collect them. Half of them were literally just in my shirt, so we just left them there until I could get them out and collect them all. It was literally so unfortunate.

Literally took up the whole pstudy hour sadly to unglue myself!! (

Since my necklace broke, I decided during personal study to glue it real quick so it could dry while I studied. Well, the glue wasn’t coming out from the top, so I was twisting and squeezing as hard as I could, and all of a sudden, the glue came out the bottom, and I caught it with my hands before it landed on the Word of God. I ran to the sink, thinking, "Crap, I don’t know what to do," so my go-to was to wash my hands. And the glue wasn’t coming off. Y’all, this wasn’t just a dot—not the "not a lot" like we’ve been taught—this was a whole gallon of glue on my hands. I started taking my rings off since I was clearly clueless about what to do. My companion came out, and we just poured olive oil all over my hands. And man, y’all, I felt so smooth—literally so shiny too. And God bless, the glue finally started coming off. It was literally insane. I think God thought, "Well, if you aren’t going to study, may your hands be stuck together." Lesson learned, that’s for sure.

We had Zone Training! President came and taught us the gospel hardcore. I’ll add some points for my little spiritual thought for y’all this fine Monday. But we played a game after some training, and they brought back the first Zone Training game ever—we played Bunko. It’s a dice game where you have to roll three sixes and then yell "Bunko!" and press a bell. It’s gotta be the finest game, and y’all, I finally got a bunch! It took a year, but I did it! So yes, I’m pretty cool, you might say. Sadly, I didn’t win, but y’all, sometimes we can’t always win in life. So accept the defeat and be better next time! <---- Humility lesson by Sister Kimball.

Y’all, we had a lesson with our new friend Brittany, who’s a psychic, and I guess she works for the police department? I don’t know. I just think of Psych the show, and That’s So Raven combined. Well, we show up to her house with our member, and this girl has a full-on British accent. And she’s literally from Minnesota. Our member was like, "Oh, I love your accent! Where are you from?" Girl goes, "I’m channeling someone who’s passed away, so I’m trying to use a British accent. But I’m from Minnesota!" My companion and I were literally astonished, but we continued on. Halfway through the lesson, she switched back to an American accent, so God bless. It’s gotta be the craziest lesson I have ever taught.

We are teaching this guy, Prosper, who’s from Ghana, Africa! He actually met with missionaries there and then moved to America. Right now, we’re waiting for him to get his booty to church. He said he wants to get baptized, but to come to church, he needs a different job than what he has now. And what he needs is a green card. So please pray for that—or for him to get hitched, because I feel like that’s an easy solution. Just kidding… unless?

Y’ALL, I MADE IT OUT OF THE SPRINGS! Well, for a day. My old companion served in the Castle Pines/Lone Tree area, which is the tippy top of our mission. For the last year, I like to describe where I served as "Mid-Springs" because I honestly have. So I got to visit Castle Rock, where I had never been! Sister B (my companion) had a baptism up there, and we got permission to go—only if we found a ride. So the senior sisters, the queens that they are, drove us. SOOOO ROAD TRIP! I have never driven longer than an hour in my mission, so this drive was an hour and five minutes—yay! I got to hear all the tea about the grandkids, which was super entertaining. When I was at the church building, I realized that two of my friends from BYU are actually from there, so I found their plaques. Shoutout to the twins, Carter and Wyatt! I got to tour their church building—haha! So that was pretty sick. The trip sadly had to come to an end since I was only there for like four hours, but it’s fine—bucket list item checked off!

Y’ALL, AWESOME LESSON WITH RYAN! Let me tell you—we literally pulled up to his house, and this man was literally sitting on his porch reading the Book of Mormon. He said, "I thought I would do some light reading!" Hahaha, he had me dead. We taught the big three (Law of Chastity, Word of Wisdom, Law of Tithing), and bro was like, "Yeah, easy, I can do this." It was literally such a spiritually awesome lesson. I can’t tell y’all how close we are to setting a date for his baptism—literally so close! Ryan is the most ready, elect person for the gospel and even explains gospel principles to me! Y’all, keep praying—he needs all the prayers he can get! I know I say this a lot, but Ryan is the coolest, I swear. He’s literally an adult skater boy. He even brings his skateboard and shows us some tricks. It was literally the funniest thing ever because two seconds later, he ate it.

Ryan showing us his skate boarding drip!!

This email has gotten too long! Time for the spiritual thought!

"Remember the worth of souls is great in the sight of God." We read this in Sunday School—it’s from D&C 18! It’s one of my favorite verses because it literally tells us how much God cares for us. I don’t think we can even comprehend the amount of love God has for us—every single person on this earth. I read this quote by Uchtdorf in his talk, "You Matter to Him." It says, "This is a paradox of man: compared to God, man is nothing; yet we are everything to God. But the Lord uses a scale very different from the world’s to weigh the worth of a soul." He loves us and is very, very aware of each of us. I don’t think we understand that when you say you’re a child of God—you LITERALLY ARE HIS CHILD, and HE CARES! Sorry, this is my rant for today because some people don’t know how much they are worth!

I love y’all! Y’all are amazing, and y’all truly are blessed with this email in your inbox!

XOXO,
Sister Kimball
