Hey y’all!!

Transfer was this week, so that's why I'm writing to you on a Tuesday. I know y’all were stressin', so don’t you fear—I’m here!! 🦹‍♀️
Me and Sis B are hitting it up for another one in Sand Creek!! Also… I only have two transfers left

Y’all, on P-day, our district went to Tucanos, and it was Carnaval in Brazil, so they were going crazy since it's a Brazilian restaurant—super fun!! One of the elders in our district thinks he's getting transferred, so he wanted to go one last time!! Lol, and y’all, I have never seen four people eat so much meat! The elders went crazy—it was like kids in a candy store!! I finally convinced them to flip the stick to red so the servers would stop bringing the meat, but as soon as they saw the pineapple come out again, they flipped it right back to green. So funny!!

Awwwww love at first sight 😘😭🥹

Our church building was built in the
1970s just a fun fact for y'all!! 🤓☝️

We were at a member’s house, and her daughter was there with her husband, and they had a brand new puppy. Now, I’m not a big fan of animals, but this dog was literally the cutest—his name was Bronco, and he could melt your heart!!  Anyways, this young couple was super cool, and we were talking about their missions. Y’all, I kid you not, I had the strongest impression to ask them more questions about their missions! He served in New York, and she said, "Prepare yourself, it’s super exotic," and then told us she served in Provo, Utah!!

Then I had the thought to ask where their records were, and they informed us they were no longer part of the Church. Now, that’s their decision—not saying anything about it! But my comp (and I’m calling her out for this one) got really awkward and said, "Oh, that’s cool."  Don’t worry, I made fun of her the rest of the night!! But I kept wondering why I had such a strong impression to ask about their missions—why were they so passionate about them then, but no longer part of the Church now? Well, I was reminded this week that we don’t always know why we receive promptings, and sometimes we never know. But there had to be a reason. Maybe it was to remind them of the Spirit they felt on their missions, or maybe it was to help them feel the Spirit again in that moment. I don’t know why, but I do know that when we act on spiritual promptings, we receive more. The Lord trusts us to be His tools! Also, y’all, we all have spiritual gifts, and one I’m working on is the gift of discernment. Everything takes practice!!

(Sorry for the spiritual rant so early in the email, but that actually wasn’t my spiritual thought—more to come!! 😘)

We went to Buffalo Wild Wings for dinner with some members, and let me tell y’all—the music they were playing was crazy. It was like it was meant for me. We have an elder in our district who’s from Canada, and he loves Taylor Swift—like, LOVES her. He said that’s what he grew up on. Anyways, they played like 10 Taylor Swift songs, and he died when we told him!! I don’t know why, but the fact that he’s from Canada and obsessed with T-Swift just cracks me up!!

Very unfortunate the wind here is crazy!!

We went to Bishop’s Storehouse, which is like a food pantry for our Church. We usually go with another pair of elders in our district, and basically, we just stock food. Well, they didn’t have many jobs for us this time, but another companionship of elders showed up because they wanted to help out, so it ended up being three companionships of missionaries helping out. It was the funniest thing!! Literally felt like we were working in a grocery store, just stocking and sweeping. We had so much fun!! #ILiveToServe (well, recently, I guess!!)

Y’ALL!! This reactivated member we’re teaching—she’s hilarious. She was at Goodwill and said she saw a hat that she just had to get for us. It literally says: "Suck it up, buttercup."  She thought it was so funny and told us, "If anyone’s being annoying, just tell them to read the hat!!" I died. So now, the next time someone gets mad that we’re on their porch, I’m just gonna be like, "Sorry, sir, but suck it up, buttercup! We’re serving the Lord!"

We had a ward party for missionary work—woohoo!! And we went all out to inspire these members to share the gospel!! And RYAN CAME!! Bro literally took a Book of Mormon to give to someone?!? Bro needs to be baptized!! A member saw him do that, and turned to me and said, "Ryan needs to hop in the room behind us," which was the font.💀 Had me dead.

Y’all, we felt super impressed to ask Ryan the baptismal questions—just lowkey—to see where he’s at, and WE KNOW HIS NEEDS NOW. I’M SO EXCITED!! Also, I told him my Nana prays for him, and he said, "Tell your Nana I love her."

ALSO, Ryan called us out of nowhere and said he’s buying us a plant. I was straight-up honest with him and said, "That plant will immediately die if you leave it in my care." And he said he has faith.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY RYAN!! 🛹😎✨️

We celebrated Ryan’s birthday on Tuesday!!! He’s 31, so we met him at Kneaders and brought party hats!!  We also gave him a pie. And y’all, on Monday, we saw a tech deck (a tiny skateboard for your fingers), so we got him one!! He died laughing when he opened the gift. Also, we gave him a "Child of God" sticker—slay!!

Random thought: I live next to an Air Force base here in the Springs, and a plane flew by that looked exactly like the one from Madagascar when the penguins fly it.  It literally sounded like WWII. I turned to Sis B and said, "If we get bombed right now, I’m going home."

Oh!! We have an elder in our district who’s from Almond, Utah. I don’t actually know what it’s called, but I call it Almond. Anyways, this bro can literally quote the entire Megamind movie. Like, I swear he has a secret script somewhere. It’s so funny.

"There is no tooth fairy, there is no Easter Bunny, and there is no Queen of England."  I don’t even need to watch the real movie anymore!!

These are all very random thoughts lol, but I learned how to cut steak this week!! A member wanted me to actually learn how to cut steak properly, and I had no idea there was a right way to do it!! But apparently, you gotta cut against the grain. So I’m here for any steak-cutting needs. 😂

Anyways I wanted to end cause I don't think I talk about it that much, but I truly love my mission!! And I have seen so many amazing things just being able to witness people come to church and find joy! I asked Ryan what it felt like coming to church the first time and he said it felt like home, like when everyone first sang a hymn, he said it was a choir of angels. I don't think people realize that the only requirement for missionary work is this one,

"Therefore, if ye have a desire to serve God ye are called to the work"

We are called, we are literally set apart missionaries, so if y'all are thinking about serving or are thinking you're not enough, trust me you are!! You have that desire and the Lord will take that and magnify the heck out of it!! Remember the 5 loaves and two fishes he took that he even made more then what they needed to feed that 5000!! He will take us and mold us like clay and we will be shocked of what he can do if we let him!! I love this work, and wow I have truly found my Savior here!!

I love y'all!! Also the sun came out this week so God bless!!

Xoxo
