MERRY CHRISTMAS and for my Spanish peeps, Feliz Navidad!
I also speak Tongan (Kilisimasi) and German (Frohe Weihnachten) and (Hawaiian) Mele Kalikimaka!! The gift of tongues is real!!! I mean I don't have it I'm English and proud! Ahaha!! A member said to me that when I sing people need the gift of listening which stabbed me in the heart but this is what happens when you're in a ward too long, they bully you!!
Okay, I hate snow, but why is it not going to be a white Christmas? That kinda sucks if you live in a cold place and it doesn't snow for Christmas. I mean, what’s the point then?!
We had Christmas Zone Conference this week and it was absolutely fire. President and Sister Kotter talked about Christ's birth and it was literally amazing!! Saw Putnut!! #byusummertermpt2onthemish <<<— if you can understand that, we can be friends!
We played a game where you can steal candy, but only twice, and I had literally the best candy. So, Putnut stole mine and gave me Hot Tamales. Who the heck likes Hot Tamales?! Couldn’t be me, fr!!

Christmas Zoco fits go hard!! 🎄 Cottonwood Creek Colorado December 2024 |
Most embarrassing thing happened: we finally got into a less active person’s house after like 6 months of trying, and we were getting to know them!! They are this older couple, and the man is from Mexico. He just kept talking and talking!! He talked about the church and how he joined, then mentioned the temple, the Air Force, and then tacos—idk how we ended up talking about tacos. Anyway, the wife is a member in our area book, so I asked when she got baptized. Girl looked at me dead in the eyes and said, "I'm not a member!" like she was full-on disgusted and said, “I don’t know why I’m on your roster.” I then asked, "Well, would you want to be?" and she did not find that funny!!
Crazy story, y’all! So, I gave a talk in my ward about 3 weeks ago, and I thought I was getting transferred, so this talk was mega powerful. I prayed to know what I should talk about, and I spoke about the Light of Christ. Afterward, a girl came up to me crying with her husband. They aren’t members, and she told me how she came to church a lot as a kid, and that my talk was exactly what she needed to hear. It was kinda cool to hear that. We then had a lesson with her and found out she was, in fact, a member. Her husband, though, is not. She told me how she knows that I stayed because I needed to teach her and her husband, and how she knows I needed to meet her. It was soooo tender; I literally started to tear up!! No matter what y’all think, you are exactly where you need to be. He has a plan for each of us!!

Also, this is random, but I’m German now, lol. Shout out to Sis. Van Gils who's serving there!! I know how you feel, haha, just kidding. But I had some Spätzle and Schnitzel, which would’ve been honestly better with ranch, but I guess it was good!! Hahaha.
Okay, I'll stop being sentimental!! We went caroling with the youth for our dinner hour and it was literally a blast!! We were walking back from the house and me and a youth were racing for shotgun, of course, like one would, and I totally biffed it!! Pic below of the road rash I received!!
The caroling group!! 🙌🎤 Cottonwood Creek Colorado December 2024 |
SISTER LUCE AND I FINALLY GOT A PIC! I LOVE HER!! 🥹😍 Cottonwood Creek, Colorado December 2024 |
So, me and Sis. Ducker are like pro bakers—we made 60 plates of sweet treats for the ward and some friends. I made like 5 pans of Christmas crack, and I burnt one of them. I thought it wasn’t so bad, but Sis. Ducker tasted it and said, “You can definitely taste the burnt!” So we decided to give that to the people we don’t really like—just kidding, that would be so rude! We delivered them to everyone and it was literally so much fun!! Made a stop at Diane’s and I literally walked in and tripped on her oxygen cord—literally rip!! Diane said that hurt and I felt so bad—I thought I killed her for a second. She's alive and well. Here’s some advice for y’all: when in a nursing home, make sure you're not stepping or tripping on oxygen cords!!
I have a little Christmas message for you from Charlie Brown!! Clay, you will like this one!!
A Charlie Brown Christmas:
"I guess you were right, Linus. I shouldn’t have picked this little tree," said Charlie Brown. "Everything I do turns into a disaster. I guess I don’t really know what Christmas is all about. Isn’t there anyone who knows what Christmas is all about?"
"Sure, Charlie Brown, I can tell you what Christmas is all about," said Linus.
[Linus walks to center stage.]
"Lights, please."
"And there were in the same country shepherds abiding in the field, keeping watch over their flock by night.
And, lo, the angel of the Lord came upon them, and the glory of the Lord shone round about them: and they were sore afraid.
And the angel said unto them, 'Fear not: for, behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy, which shall be to all people.
For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Saviour, which is Christ the Lord.
And this shall be a sign unto you; Ye shall find the babe wrapped in swaddling clothes, lying in a manger.'
And suddenly there was with the angel a multitude of the heavenly host praising God, and saying,
'Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace, good will toward men.'
That’s what Christmas is all about, Charlie Brown."
[Linus picks up his blanket and shuffles offstage.]
This is literally my favorite thing ever because Christmas isn’t about presents or Santa or the tree, and don’t get me wrong—I love presents, lol. But we celebrate Christmas because Jesus Christ, the Son of God, was born for us!! I love the symbolism of placing the babe in a manger. A manger being a feeding trough for animals—that’s where they go when they’re hungry or thirsty. Jesus Christ is our Bread of Life and Living Water. We need to go to Him so we don’t thirst. I just love that!! Remember the real reason for Christmas!!
Xoxo,
SISTER KIMBALL
