Y’all, I did it.
I'm officially Sanford Country because I went fishing, y’all!!

Last P-day, me and Sister Christensen left with some members at 8 a.m. to head to a lake for some fishing. The title is a lie—we did, in fact, catch nothing!! At least I can teach the gospel, lol!! At one point, Sister Christensen thought she got something, and we were all so excited, and then… she pulled out a stick. Our excitement turned into disappointment "reel" fast.

But y’all, I'm not gonna lie—I did get my technique down. Like, I looked like a pro. I know I have nothing to show for it, but y’all, fishing is kinda fun. I wish we’d caught something!

What’s funny is the fact that we asked the stake president where we should go fishing and what bait we should use. You would think if he can receive revelation for a whole stake, he could receive revelation for our fishing. But sadly… no.  Still fun though!

Me and Sister Christensen bought some little boys' fishing shirts from Walmart, so we were dripped up. Ryan, the member who took us, was slightly embarrassed by our drip.

Reeelax, get it? 😏

I had my last mission-wide comp study with President and Sister Kotter. It was sooo good though. We learned about Jeremiah—but I’ll save that thought for later. Just know: it was super good!!

Our service has been so bad lately, so we said some mighty prayers for the connection to be good so we could listen.

We met with a few less active members this week, which was really good. Since I’m heading home soon, I’ve had a goal to testify of Christ as much as possible.

We were able to talk to this lady named Linda, who hasn’t been a part of the Church for a very long time. Being able to testify of Jesus Christ’s Atonement was really impactful for me. It made me realize Christ really should be at the center of all our lives.

Ask yourself the question: “How have I been able to focus on Christ today?”
It’s a true testimony builder to see what happens when people focus on Christ—and what happens when they don’t.

We were also able to see another inactive lady, and I was just straight-up bold with her and asked why she doesn’t come to church. She said COVID broke the habit. So me and Sister Christensen were able to strongly testify of church and its blessings!
Literally amazing.

Girl had to ruin our fishing trip with her bloody nose so pick me of her.

Since the service here sucks, we go to the church sometimes at night to use the Wi-Fi. One night, there was a baseball game happening with a bunch of ward members, so we went out and said hi. We decided to bat one ball.

Probably one of the funniest experiences.
Y’all, I am NOT good at baseball in any way, lol. But the members were dying laughing. It literally took me back to when we went to batting cages at my high school—and I was also humbled there.

So y’all, Rosie was not baptized this week, BUT MIRACLE TIME!

We needed extra blessings, so we asked our district to fast for Rosie. That day, we were on exchanges just doing normal missionary work, and I was so hungry and tired. I was this close to giving up on fasting… when Rosie texted us.

She was able to ask her dad for permission—and he said yes.
This was just a huge testimony of how powerful fasting is and how it can bring miracles. Now we’re just waiting for her mom to be able to come up here, and then Rosie will be baptized.
We are SO excited.

FASTING WORKS!!

Y’ALL. MY TWIN IS ENGAGED!!!
I mean, we all saw it coming, but still—INSANE. Also shout-out to Jack for not filling me in 🀦‍♀️ I will forever hold that against you!!

But I’m so excited for Leah, y’all!!
Also, I don’t think people talk about this enough, but being a twin and serving a mission—you start to realize you actually kinda like her. And you start to miss her.

I’m sad my mission is coming to an end, but excited to see my best friend. I love Leah so much. You can ask all my companions—they pretty much know everything about her, haha.
Sister Christensen has seen Leah’s homecoming video like 14 times now.
Leah will soon be: LEAH ALLISON πŸ’

This week we went to a member’s house, and they took us outside and gave us a lesson on how irrigation works. Just an everyday thing for Sanford, y’all—but I’m not gonna lie, it was actually pretty interesting.

Y’all, our neighbors are this cute member family. One night, we came home and I got on the car to see what they were doing in their backyard like the stalker I am—and y’all, they were having s’mores.  So of course, I invited us over. Hahaha. Their little girl showed me how to just put the marshmallow between two cookies—it was soooo good!!

Okay y’all, that’s it!!
There’s probably more, but I can’t remember.

Here’s a little spiritual thought for y’all:

Mosiah 3:15

“And many signs, and wonders, and types, and shadows showed he unto them, concerning his coming; and also holy prophets spake unto them concerning his coming; and yet they hardened their hearts, and understood not that the law of Moses availeth nothing except it were through the atonement of his blood.”

We read the story of Joseph and the coat of many colors—but y’all, it literally was a type and shadow of Jesus Christ.

I read this talk recently, and this was one of my favorite quotes:

"I know his statement to be true. When we can grasp the ideas that Christ is the Master Teacher, the universe is His classroom, and the curriculum is the Atonement, we will never read the scriptures the same way again."

This talk gave so many types and shadows of Christ. I’ve learned—and come to know—on my mission that all things testify of Christ.

I love y’all!!
XOXO,
Sister Kimball

I just want my family to know that these shoutouts are awful and I can never think of anything, but know I did more than Leah in the end. Thanks Colton, for starting this so Capri and Collins have to do like 50 people when they serve.

  • Dad: HAPPY BIRTHDAY!! No way you’re 53… oh man, you're getting up there.

  • Mom: Had a lesson on irrigation this week. I’ve felt closer to you while serving here, lol.

  • Colton: So… are you telling my future husband he has to film a video too, or do I have to just hint at it? lol

  • Caryn: Watching Colton’s video made me realize how lucky he was to get you. We all love you, Caryn!!

  • Bailey: So are you flying down for the Bachelorette party or skipping out on your bridesmaid duties?

  • Taylor: Miles is probably too young for the hip carry πŸ’€

  • Clay: Now do a flip.

  • Leah: I tell people y’all didn’t date before the mission, and they think you’re crazy, haha.

  • Bella: Love the update!

  • Collins: Why do you always have a secret in pictures?

  • Capri: Hide Nana’s wig in the corner of Mom’s bathroom tonight.

  • Kash: I can’t wait to tell you how your dad used to hold us underwater to see how long we could last

  • Reese: So we’re the only ones who can do the splits in the fam? We just be like dat πŸ’‍♀️

  • Miles: Why do we have the same crying face? Are you mimicking me???

  • Why do we look the same when we cry???
